A CFO or chief financial officer is the head of finance of an organization. A CFO is responsible for major financial decisions, financial planning, accounting, and reporting company financials to the CEO and the board of directors. Responsibilities also include establishing financial management policies and monitoring the operation of financial management systems. A CFO should mostly be a qualified accountant. An MBA or related qualification may also be accepted for some positions. A CPA qualification is required by top organizations. A CFO position usually requires 8+ years of experience in a top finance role or managerial position. A CFO should have thorough understanding of finance and have solid problem solving skills.
